4 months old

Yesterday Bridgette turned 4 months old. She now weighs 12 lbs 10 oz and is 24 3/4 inches long! She put on some flub the past month and her little thighs are no longer little and she has the Ketzle double chin. She can now hold her head up well, sit propped, eats her hands all the time, can hold a toy and put it in her mouth, loves to grab her toes, puts her hands together, smiles all the time, loves to talk, enjoys tummy time and can hold her head up at a 90 degree angle, still loves the swing and bouncy seat (my mom named it the theater chair), loves laying on her back on her play mat and looking/grabbing at her toys, and sleeps 10 hours at night. As you can tell she changes everyday.

The food allergy saga continues.........we started a new reflux medicine because she was still spitting up all the time. Patrick and I have become use to our life of having spit up all over us, all over the couch, and laugh at all the dried up puddles on the wood floors that we didn't even know happened. We are now pros at getting ready for work and not having spit up on our work clothes, we both learned the hard way that you don't put your clothes on until you are walking out the door. As a worried mom (Patrick thinks I'm paranoid) I brought up some observations about B's poop. The doctor agreed with me that it probably wasn't normal and that their could be another food allergy. Pretty soon I might earn my detectives badge in baby poop! So for the next two weeks I will cut out all nuts from my diet. In case you haven't kept up that means no dairy, soy, and now nuts. You might be thinking, why nuts? Good questions, well ever since I was told no dairy I started putting almond milk in my coffee and ate peanut butter for breakfast everyday. A few weeks after these diet alterations I noticed that her poop wasn't normal. Now that it has been several months I thought to myself, the almond milk is really the only huge change in my diet so why not drink rice milk instead and see if it makes a difference. I'm praying that it will because I am ready for Bridgette's tummy to not be bothering her all the time. Don't be jealous of my diet but if you are trying to lose a few pounds you might give it a try. Wish me luck because so far the rice milk grosses me out. On a good note I did find a chocolate bar that is milk and soy free!! I am going to go broke buying chocolate but it was wonderful to indulge in one of my favorite foods after not having it for 3 months, now to find ice cream and cheese that I can eat!

Baptism and Mother's Day

Today has been an event filled day. This morning Bridgette was baptized. Patrick and I were anxious about being on time for church and having everything ready for lunch at our house. Luckily B decided to take a hour and a half nap (she never sleeps that long) so we had time to get ourselves and everything else ready. We also make it to church right on time! B cooperated really well during the baptism and never cried. She was very content in Clayton's arms and loved being held by her daddy throughout the service. All of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and most of her cousins came to support her and show their love for her. It was amazing!! She is so lucky to have such a wonderful family!

I had a great first Mother's Day! I got to spend it with all of family which made it even more special. My wonderful husband got me flowers and a gift card! I feel like the luckiest girl alive!!

Back to Work I go

I have now finished 3 weeks of work and only have 4 left!! Yippee!! It was easier than I thought it would be to leave lil B at home. I guess I had really prepared myself for the worst and in the end it wasn't that bad. Sure we had a our rough days and evening but all in all it has been successful.

Patrick was Mr. Mom for the first 2 weeks. He did a great job taking care of B. I love that they got to spend 2 weeks together and she is such a daddy's girl because of it. Not only did Patrick take care of the baby he also did laundry, cleaning, cooking, and threw the most wonderful birthday party for me. He really embraced being a stay at home dad. Oh I forgot, he worked from home as well. I'm not sure how he did it! His mom got to spend Wednesday afternoons with B so that Patrick could go into the office. B loved her time with her Grandma!

This past week my parents came in town to take care of Bridgette. They had so much fun with her and she loved being spoiled by her Grammy and Grandpa. She had a great week and didn't fuss or spit up very much. I think the meds were really working this week =)

Next week Grandpa and Cathy get a turn and then Tamara. After that Lexi will finish the school year off. Bridgette is learning to be the most versatile and flexible baby from all of her wonderful care takers! We are very thankful for all of our wonderful family and friends for helping us out so that we didn't have to send B to day care.

Easter

Bridgette had a great first Easter. The Easter bunny brought her a basket full of goodies! We went to church with Jeff, Tiffany, Caitlyn, and Grant. We got some cute pictures of the kids and had a great dinner at their house along with Keith and Ryann. We also had lunch with Lea, Erick, Kathryn, Caleb, Ethan, Andrew, Cyndi and Don. I had so much fun dressing B up in her Easter dress. I had been eye balling it at Old Navy for weeks and the week before Easter is was on sale. I was so excited and she looked adorable in it!

3 months old

I can't believe my baby is 3 months old. Time flies fast when you are having fun! Bridgette has changed and grown so much that it is almost hard to remember how small she was. Every day she looks more and more like her mommy except you can't miss her huge dimples that she got from her daddy.

This month Bridgette has gotten a lot stronger. She holds her head up well, sits propped, likes to push on her legs to stand, scratches mommy with her finger nails, grabs toys and clothing. She still loves her swing, bouncy seat, and play mat but still hates tummy time. She smiles, coos, and giggles all the time.

My maternity leave unfortunately came to an end this month. I enjoyed my 13 weeks at home with her and it was hard to leave her. The hardest part was not seeing Stephanie and Kai on an almost daily basis. We really loved the time we got to spend with them!

This month we took a trip to east Texas to see Bridgette's great grandparents and also spent the night at the farm my Auntie Amy, Uncle Mike, Jillian, Jake and Jensen. It was a long weekend but it was fun. Jensen is in love with Bridgette and it is so fun to watch him talk to her and give her kisses. He has finally learned our names all due to baby B.

Arboretum

Stephanie and I took our babies to the Arboretum to get some pictures in the pretty flowers. We almost blew away from the wind and we had fun but we both learned a lot about parenting that day. First off nothing goes as planned or scheduled. I think we knew this but we were secretly hoping that they would cooperate. Bridgette started the morning off not cooperating so we were flexible. In the end both babies were awake and happy at the same time so we did end up getting some cute pictures. Lesson learned, take pictures in your flower bed at home when your baby is only 2 months old =)

2 Months Old

Bridgette turned 2 months old on St. Patty's Day. We were in San Antonio visiting my parents. This was her first big road trip and she did really well. She did great in the car except for 45 minutes on the way there due to construction. We had a really good time visiting my parents and we went to the river walk and the Alamo on St. Patty's Day.

Bridgette weighed 9 lbs 13 oz and was 23 inches long at her 8 week checkup. She is definitely going to be tall and skinny like her Daddy! She got a bunch of shots and she only cried a little bit. She was one tough cookie! We are also stopped her reflux medicine to see if she really has reflux or if it is a food allergy. Lucky for me I still can't have dairy and as of last week can't have soy milk either, boo! She seems fine without the medicine and seems to have rough days when I eat foods that are not normally in my diet. I would say she for sure has a food allergy. Poor baby! I have been really careful to not have dairy or soy but it is really hard. I am hoping she will out grow her allergies.

She met her Auntie Laura and her cousin Vivian this month. She loves spending time with her cousins and wishes Vivian lived closer so they could have play dates.

She grew and changed a lot this month. Here are some of her milestones: drinks from a bottle, sleeps in her crib in her room, sleeps for 5-5 1/2 hours at night, enjoys her bath, makes eye contact, smiles occasionally, follows objects with her eyes, is holding her head up better, out grew her newborn clothes and diapers, enjoys her play mat, loves the swing, and enjoys sitting in her bouncy seat and watching tv. She is starting to look more and more like her mommy but has her daddy's long legs and dimples.
