8 and 9 months flew by

As you can tell we have been really busy and I didn't even have time to update my blog last month. B has grown and changed so much in the past two months that I'm not even sure I can remember all of her milestones. I'm going to do the best I can.

8 months old-
B started going from sitting to belly. She started commando crawling everywhere! She loves to crawl but gave herself two huge wounds on her big toes from propelling herself with them. She does this so much that I couldn't get a good 8 month picture of her because she wouldn't sit and pose. She got two teeth on the top but not the center ones, the ones next to them. She had an ear infection this month and felt icky for about 4 days. Mom my and dad were in town so they stayed longer to help take care of Bridgette, she's a lucky girl!

9 months old-
This month she learned to push to sitting. She also gets on all 4s to crawl but can't quite figure out how the move her arms and legs. She loves to dance to music! I can already see dance team in her future. B babbles all the time, I think she is going to give me a run for my money in the talking category. This month she learned how to crawl up the step from the living room to the kitchen and into the play room. She loves to take everything out of baskets, bags, shelves, etc. She got the two front top teeth and now how a very toothy grin. She has the most contagious belly laugh and loves to play any game that required laughing. She also learned how to clap and enjoys clapping when she is happy. Two of her favorite past times are walks and swinging in the park. She loves to eat cherrios but it is the only food she will pick up and put in her mouth.

Bottle Caps Are Fun Toys

Bridgette just started scooting. Today she scooted the most and farthest ever!! It was so much fun watching her problem solve and try to move her body as much as she could. Who would have ever thought that she would care so much about playing with a cap to her bottle? Why do we buy toys? Soon she will be crawling all over the place!

Pictures finally!!

Here are the 7 month pictures. We were not as successful as last month but we got a few good ones. Maybe next month will be better =)

7 months old

I am late on this update due to the return of the school year. Bridgette turned 7 months last week. I still have yet to take 7 month pictures due to her being exhausted in the evenings from daycare and from her first stomach bug she had over the weekend. Pictures will be posted soon!

This month Bridgette got 2 teeth!! The came in within 4 days of each other. She can also roll over both ways like a champ. She is an eating fool! She loves solids. She is completely weaned and has finally enjoying her formula. She doesn't drink as many ounces of formula as she did breast milk but she seems to be happy. She also loves playing on her belly. She has learned to turn herself in circles using her hands. She has been sleeping 11-12 hours at night and it was been wonderful!

B got her first UTI this month and it was awful! I spent the last week of my summer vacation taking her to doctor appointments trying to figure out what was wrong. She had a really high fever with no symptoms. The doctor did a urine test and it came back positive. Then they had to do a catheter sample which also came back positive. Then we were sent for a sonogram and a kidney test. Little did I know this required another catheter. Poor baby! I am glad it is over and hope it never happens again.

B is adjusting to daycare. This first few days she cried all day =( By Thursday she was having happy moments. This week she has been happy but is still not sleeping like she normally does. I'm sure in a few weeks she will be fully adjusted and loving every moment.

Keith and Ryann's Wedding

Keith and Ryann got married on July 30th. There were a lot of festivities leading up to the big day that kept us really busy. First we went to San Antonio so Patrick could go to the bachelor party. Bridgette and I spent the weekend with my parents. We had a fun weekend but Thursday and Friday were a little stressful. B was still on the down slope of the dairy effects and was still a little fussy. My mom and I went to play bunco at her church and B went to the nursery. All was fine and dandy until the nice nursery worker came and got me because they couldn't calm little B. Anyone shocked? I wasn't! Poor baby was so tired and wouldn't take the bottle. The rest of the weekend she was happier and playful and started sleeping through the night again. She did great on the car ride there and back, she basically slept the whole way! Patrick and I were both proud of her!

The next weekend was the big weekend. Friday morning I dropped B off at Liz's so that I could go to the bridal luncheon. The food was wonderful and the luncheon was fun. B and I headed home for a nap before heading to the rehearsal dinner. We had a great time at the rehearsal dinner! It was great spending time with some old college friends. When we arrived home my Uncle Bob and cousin Savannah were at my house anxious to see us and tired from their long trip.

The next day was the big wedding day. We dropped B off at Grandma's and headed to the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was fun! I got to see old friends from high school and college. Most of my mom's side of the family came in town for the wedding and it was great to see everyone and catch up. After the wedding all of the family came to our house for food and swimming. We had a great time! I really wish we could see all of them more often, we always have a good time!

We then spent the next several days with Uncle Bob and Savannah. We went out to eat several times and toured the Dallas Cowboy Stadium while they were here. We hope they enjoyed the stay as much as we did!

Wow, a half a year already?

Yesterday Bridgette turned 6 months old. We had our monthly photo shoot and I think we did another fabulous job. Bridgette now weighs 15 lbs and is 26 1/2 inches long! She did not enjoy her doctor appointment this morning. Between having ear wax dug out of her ears and her shots she was not a happy camper. I'm glad it is over!

This past month B started eating rice cereal and I introduced dairy back into my diet. She did great with both until the end of last week. She started passing aweful gas and was grunting and straining often. We were not really sure why but we tried to be patient parents with fussiness, night wakings, etc because we could tell she was uncomfortable. I thought it was the oatmeal that I gave her last week but our doc thinks it is the dairy. Of course! So here we are back at square one and the saga continues. It's time to wean and wean fast. Our pocket books will never be the same again with having to buy the most expensive formula and paying for day care soon. But it is all worth it for the happiness and well being of our daughter. Well heck, the happiness and mental health status of our whole family!

B is growing and changing so rapidly let's see if I can even remember all of the monthly milestones. She can eat from a spoon like a champ, sit up all by herself, roll over (even though she still doesn't care about rolling), pass a toy from one hand to the other, reach for everything in sight, put everything in mouth including toes, loves having stories read to her so she can beat her hands on the pages, can put her self to sleep by sucking her two fingers, loves playing with any toy that lights up and makes noises, loves playing in her jumperoo, it too heavy for the swing, almost too heavy for the bouncy seat, tries to turn herself to get to toys she cannot reach while laying on belly, and still loves playing on her back like a bump on a log.

4th of July weekend

We had a busy weekend. We started it off with a visit to Big Daddy and Memaw. Holly and Edward were there visiting so we got to see them too! We had a nice visit but learned that Bridgette really loves napping in her bed and gets really cranky and doesn't sleep well when else where. Next time we will bring a pack and play. We finished the busy day with a visit to see Patrick's dad and Cathy. We had a fun day but were exhausted when we got home!

On Monday we went to the Plano parade with Stephanie, Bhavin, and Kai. We had a good time but it was hot! Hopefully next year the babies will appreciate the parade more so that it will be more fun. We went swimming after the parade so cool off. Bridgette loved the pool like always but Kai wasn't so sure about it. In the afternoon family and friends came for a cookout and swimming. We even had sparklers for an added bonus! We had a great day and I think B had a great first 4th of July!
